Recommendation

A.                     Adopt Resolution No.24-__ entitled “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Goleta, California, Calling for the Holding of a General Municipal Election to be Held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the Election of Certain Officers as Required by the Provisions of the Laws of the State of California Relating to General Law Cities”.

 

B.                     Adopt Resolution No.24-__ entitled “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Goleta, California, Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Barbara to Consolidate a General Municipal Election to be Held on November 5, 2024, with the Presidential General Election to be Held on the Date Pursuant to § 10403 of the Elections Code”.

 

C.                     Adopt Resolution No. 24-__ entitled “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Goleta, California, Adopting Regulations for Candidates for Elective Office Pertaining to Candidate Statements Submitted to the Voters at an Election to be Held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024”.

 

D.                     Adopt Resolution No. 24-___ entitled “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Goleta, California, Calling and Giving Notice of the Holding of a General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024, for the Submission of a Proposed Ordinance/Measure Extending Measure G by Twenty Years Upon its Expiration, Requesting that the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Consolidate this Election with the Presidential General Election to be Held on November 5, 2024, and Setting Rules for Direct Arguments and Rebuttals Concerning the Proposed Ordinance/Measure”.

 

E.                     (Optional) Consider whether to authorize up to two Councilmembers to author an argument in support of the ordinance (and rebuttal arguments) on behalf of the Council on their personal time.
